Adjust Water Level In Toilet Tank Floating Cup
To raise the water level slide the float upward on the rod and release the clip.
Adjust water level in toilet tank floating cup. It is attached to the valve that controls how much water refills the toilet. To adjust the water level in your toilet bowl start by removing the tank lid and noting if the water level looks too high or low. Bending the floater arm up or down will allow there to be more or less water inside a tank. For a floating cup assembly locate the clip that connects the cup to the narrow vertical rod that runs parallel to the pole.
Grasp the spring clip attached to the float cup valve and pinch it with your fingers if the water is constantly running in the toilet. Slide float downward or upward and release clip to lower the water level slide the float downward on the actuating rod then release the spring clip. Pinch the clip on both ends and raise it one half inch. Take the cover of the tank off and inspect the top of your fill valve for a dial or switch.
If you flush the toilet this system will release water into the bowl. If the water level is too high turn the dial to the right 1 2 rotations. Turn the water on and watch it fill to see how the water level changes. Check the water level and adjust as necessary flush the toilet and check to see if the water level in the bowl is correct.
Next the tank fills which causes the float to rises on the water. If the water level is too low turn the dial to the left 1 2 rotations. Since the height of the float determines the water level turn the screw on top of the fill valve 1 full rotation. To adjust the water level pinch both ends of the metal spring clip and raise or lower the float.
Then turn off the water supply to the toilet by rotating the knob on the wall behind the toilet clockwise as far as it will go. A floater cup will have a clip that can be adjusted for a higher or lower water level. The fluidmaster s float cup on the fill valve can easily be adjusted to set water height in the cistern just by fine tuning the water level adjustment clip. This process is very similar for regular fill valves too with float balls instead of float cups.
This is a simple and basic guide on how to adjust the flush water level on a new modern toilet. This is for toilets without the traditional ball and valve sy. Then the float falls until it reaches the valve that activates an increase in water level. Once the water is off check the float which is a plastic ball attached to a long arm at the top of the fill valve.
Usually the floater can be adjusted by hand in order to change the toilet water level.
